Material

Cellulose acetate, worked properly.

Acetate is a plant-derived thermoplastic supplied as sheet. It holds colour through its full section rather than on the surface, which is why a laminated or graduated frame keeps its depth as it wears.

  • Colour runs through the sheet. A scratch on acetate does not expose a different colour underneath, unlike a painted or coated frame.

  • It can be adjusted. Acetate softens with heat, so an optician can fit the frame to the wearer instead of working around it.

  • It takes a deep polish. The finish is earned in the barrel and at the buff, not sprayed on at the end.

How we select material

Manufacturing

From sheet to finished frame.

A frame passes through every one of these stages. Skipping any of them shows up later — in the finish, in the fit, or in a hinge that works loose.

  1. 01

    Material selection

Acetate sheet is chosen for colour, pattern and section thickness before anything is cut.

  2. 02

    CNC cutting

Fronts and temples are machined from the sheet, holding the geometry the design depends on.

  3. 03

    Shaping & finishing

Edges are worked back by hand so the profile sits correctly against the face.

  4. 04

    Assembly

Temples, hinges and core wires are fitted, then the frame is aligned as a complete unit.

  5. 05

    Polishing

Multi-stage polishing brings the acetate to depth — the stage that separates a good frame from a cheap one.

  6. 06

    Inspection & packing

Each frame is checked, cleaned and packed to the specification your market requires.

Private label

Your name on the temple.

A private label programme is mostly a series of small decisions — where the logo sits, how the size marking reads, what the customer opens in store. We work through them with you before the first production run.

Logo printing
Pad-printed brand marks on the temple and front.
Laser engraving
Permanent marking where print would wear.
Temple branding
Model, size and origin laid out to your format.
Retail packaging
Cases, cloths and cartons built around your identity.

Export

Sourcing eyewear from India, without the guesswork.

India has become a serious alternative for eyewear sourcing, but the experience varies enormously between suppliers. What follows is how we prefer to work.

  • Say what is possible

If a design will not hold in acetate at the size you want, we tell you at the drawing stage rather than at the sample stage.

  • Sample before scale

Nothing goes to production until you have approved a physical frame in the actual material.

  • One point of contact

You deal with the people who run the production, not a layer of intermediaries.

  • Documentation that clears

Export paperwork and packing prepared for the destination market from the outset.

Enquiries welcome from any market. We will confirm what we can supply, and what we cannot, before you commit.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask first.

Where an answer depends on your specific programme, we say so rather than publishing a number that will not apply to your order.

All questions
  • What is the difference between OEM, ODM and private label?

It comes down to who owns the design. In OEM you supply the design and we build to it. In ODM you start from our existing shapes and we adapt them until the model is yours. In private label you take frames we already produce and apply your own branding and packaging. Private label is fastest and cheapest; OEM gives the most control and costs the most to develop.

  • Can you produce eyewear under our own brand name?

Yes. Frames can carry your brand through pad printing, laser engraving and your own temple marking format, with cases, cloths and cartons produced to your artwork.

  • Do you sell single pairs to individual customers?

No. We supply on a business-to-business basis to brands, optical retailers, distributors, wholesalers and importers. We do not sell single pairs to individual wearers.

  • Will you tell us if our design will not work?

Yes, and at drawing stage rather than after sampling. A rim that holds at 48mm may not hold at 56mm. Raising that early costs a conversation; raising it late costs a season.

  • Who owns a design we send you?

It stays yours. Designs, drawings, samples, artwork and trade marks supplied by a customer remain that customer’s property, and we do not reuse them for another buyer.

  • What materials do you work in?

Our production is built around cellulose acetate — optical frames and sunglasses cut from sheet. If your programme calls for metal, combination or another construction, ask us directly and we will tell you plainly whether we can supply it or whether you are better served elsewhere.
